How many car dealerships can say they got their start as a restaurant?
In 1927, a new restaurant called The Junction Tavern opened in Geauga County at the intersection of OH-44 and US-322. Just a few years later, in 1931, Clifford Babcock and his father-in-law, Tracy Spencer, transitioned from the tavern into the car business, selling Plymouth and Dodge vehicles. With The Junction Tavern already well known in the community, "Junction Tavern Auto Sales" was born. Their goal for the first year was to sell 12 cars—and after many sleepless nights, they did.
Since then, leadership has passed through multiple generations, from Tracy and Clifford to Clifford’s son Warren, his son Ed, and now Ed’s son, Cliff Babcock—the fifth generation of the family. With each generation, Junction has grown, expanding to 15 acres and offering top brands like Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Buick, and GMC, along with full-service departments and a brand-new body shop.
Whatever your automotive needs, Junction is ready to help. Come join the Junction Auto family in Chardon—right where we started in 1931!
